The former president, Association of Nigeria Liscenced Customs Agents (ANLCA), Dr Peter Okocha, on Monday, said the association is not alive since the inception of the crisis that has rocked the association.
Okocha, however, asked the National Executive Council (NECOM) and the Board of Trustee (BoT), of the association to stepdown and allow for fresh election.
In an exclusive interview with, BUSINESSINSIDERNG, Dr Okocha, said since inception of the administration, the executive haven’t recorded any achievement due to the crisis rocking the association.
He, however, said the crisis rocking the association must be tactically and methodologically dealth with.
He said, “The association is not alive, I think they should all step down and conduct a fresh election. Since the inception of this administration of ANLCA I haven’t seen what they have done other than moving from one crisis to the other. Nothing will happen until the crisis ends unfortunately, they have to find a mid-point and not by lip service but, approaching it tactically and methodologically and deal with it. If they don’t deal with it, it will continue like that and, will be a talking shop and nothing will happen.
He, however, said he has spoken with all the factions involved saying his advise was left for them to accept or not.
“I have spoken with them and I haven’t had time because in the past, I contested for public office and I haven’t have time for ANLCA but am hoping that in the days coming but, I have some few talk with the national president and I expressed my opinion about what I think should be right offcourse he has the right to take and not to take my advise. I have sat with him in my house and office and discuss issues with him,” he said.
