The governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, has appointed, Dr. Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, as permanent secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
In a press statement, by head, Public Affairs LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor, the appointment of, Dr. Osanyintolu, as pioneer permanent secretary, LASEMA, was announced by, head of service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
Okunbor, stated further, that Osayintolu’s appointment, according to the Lagos State head of service, was due to his outstanding performance, diligence, commitment and selfless service to the State.
The LASEMA spokesman, said, Osanyintolu, conceptualized and developed the 3-digit emergency number in Lagos State and coordinated state response during Ebola outbreak in Lagos.
“Osanyintolu, who was a former director-general, LASEMA, was behind the conceptualization and development of the Command Control Centre in Lagos. Conceptualization and development of relief camp for victims of disasters in Lagos State and a member of the team that conceptualized and developed the 3-digit emergency number in Lagos State.”
“He was a team member, in the conceptualization and development of Lagos State response plan, contingency plan and syllabus for emergency/disaster management in Lagos State. He’s also a member in conceptualization and development of, First Burns Centre in Nigeria, Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos State.
“Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu coordinated States responses in managing more than 20,000 major and minor disasters in Lagos and states, such as, Ogun, Edo, Oyo and Borno.
“He also coordinated Dana plane crash, Associate Plane crash, helicopter crash at Opebi, fire disasters in Ijegun, Abule Egba pipeline vandalization and Abule-Ado gas explosion.
