The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral EI Ogalla, on Monday commissioned a newly constructed six-classroom block at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School (NNSS) Abeokuta.
Ogalla represented by the Chief of Administration, Rear Admiral GSM Aligwe, emphasized the Navy’s commitment to promoting quality education as part of its broader initiative for human capital development.
He stated that the commissioning of the new classroom block aligns with the CNS’s vision to provide naval personnel and their families with conducive learning facilities and a solid educational foundation.
In her welcome address, the Commandant of NNSS Abeokuta, Captain OA Adesiyan, expressed deep gratitude to the Chief of the Naval Staff for his unwavering commitment to improving educational infrastructure and standards in Nigerian Navy schools. She also thanked the other dignitaries and stakeholders for their support and attendance, highlighting that the new classroom block would greatly enhance the learning environment for both students and teachers.
Among those present at the event were the Director of Naval Education, Captain CO Dick-Ubi, as well as other senior officers, both serving and retired, along with staff and students of the institution.
The event concluded with the formal commissioning and inspection of the facility, marking another milestone in the Nigerian Navy’s ongoing investment in educational excellence and infrastructural development across its schools nationwide.
