The spokesman of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Jibril Dardau, is dead.
Dardau, who took over from Tayo Fadile, died after leading the early morning prayer, on Friday, 5th April, 2024.

According to family sources, was buried immediately after the Jumat Prayers, in Lokoja, Kogi state.
BUSINESSINSIDERNG gathered that Dardau, a devout Muslim died after leading the early morning prayer.
Also, the deceased NIWA Spokesman had lost his wife on 30th March, 2023 and that have left a huge space in his heart.
Family source who confirmed to our Correspondent said, “Since he lost his wife in 2022, he has been a shadow of himself. He loved his wife so well that he discussed about her almost all the time.”

However, friends, family members and loved ones poured eulogies on Jibril describing him as a devoted, unassuming, reciter and memorizer of the holy Quran.
A friend on Facebook said Jibril died a year 5 days after the death of his beloved wife.
“Dardau Jibril last year March 31st you posted the death of your in the month of Ramadan, and today exactly one year five days you followed her in the same month of Ramadan. Only God knows why.
May Allah grant you jannatul firdaus, may he give the family the fortitude to bear the shock death. Ameeeeeeeeeen.”
On his part, Ishaq Dan Alhaji, said Jibril is a lover of the holy Quran, saying, “Inalilahi waina illahi rajiuun! Dardau Jibril this is what you lived for till dead took you away, May the light of Quran be with you,💔💔”
Mohammed Bature, on his own, said, “Alaranma Dardau Jibril making a beautiful rendition of noble Quran. May Allah rest his soul in perfect peace and may the sacred book remains his companion as he sojourns into ethereal world. Ameen.”
