The immediate -past Customs Area Controller (CAC), Ogun 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Compt. Ahmadu Shuaibu, on Tuesday, disclosed that the command generated more revenue and increased seizures of contraband under his watch as the CAC of the command.
He stated this during the handing over ceremony to the newly redeployed CAC, Compt James Folorunsho Ojo, at the Command’s headquarters, Idiroko, Ogun State.
According to Shuaibu, the command also experienced zero casualty on the side of enforcement officers during his short stint at the command.

BUSINESSINSIDERNG reports that Compt. Shuaibu was redeployed from Ogun 11, Abeokuta to Ogun 1, Idiroko by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and took over mantle of leadership of the command on the 18th of September, 2023.
“I am delighted to report that we experienced a substantial increase in revenue generation, witnessed enhanced anti-smuggling exploits with minimum to zero casualties and added value to the overall development of the Command. In addition, the Command also engaged in laudable Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).

“These achievements would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the NCS Headquarters, the dedicated efforts of our brave Officers and Men, and the collaborative efforts of our critical stakeholders. I urge our officers to intensify their efforts and extend maximum support and cooperation to the incoming administration to sustain the Command’s performance tempo.
“Similarly, I appeal for the steadfast support of our critical stakeholders for the new Area Controller. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Almighty Allah and to all of you for your cooperation and patience throughout my tour of duty. I especially acknowledge the impartiality of the news coverage provided by the esteemed members of the press.
“My amiable Comptroller, on behalf of Officers and Men of Ogun 1 Command, I offer you our sincerest congratulations on your appointment and officially welcome you to the Command. Your appointment speaks volume of your capabilities, and we have every confidence that you will lead with integrity, vision, and excellence. Speaking after taking over the mantle of leadership, the newly redeployed CAC, Compt. James Ojo, said he will consolidate on the successes recorded by Compt Shuaibu.
He, however, demanded commitment, support from officers, stakeholders, clearing agents and traditional institutions.
“I won’t falter on arrangements put in place by Compt. Shuaibu but will improve on it. Kabiyesi, we thank you for your support and we will always run to you. Also, we want you to keep the youths at check and keep them busy so as to achieve our aims,” the comptroller stated.
