Former NPA Boss Bereaved As Younger Brother Dies In Abuja

The former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman, has lost her younger brother, Hussaini Bala Usman.

Hussaini died on Saturday, January 30, 2026, after a brief illness. He was buried on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in accordance with Islamic rites.

A statement made available to BUSINESSINSIDERNG announced the death and provided details of the burial arrangements.

“INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJI’UN. This is to sadly announce the passing of Hussaini Bala Usman, the younger brother of Hadiza Bala Usman. He died after a brief illness,” the statement read.

It added that the Janazah prayer was scheduled to hold at the National Assembly Jummu’ah Mosque, Zone E, Apo Legislators’ Quarters, Abuja.

“He was buried on Sunday, February 1, 2026, according to Islamic rites. The Janazah prayer held by 1:00pm at the National Assembly Jummu’ah Mosque, Zone E, Apo Legislators’ Quarters, Abuja. Please keep him in your prayers,” the statement concluded.
