
The former spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Deputy Corp Marshal, Bisi Kareem, may be asked to retire from the Commission after President Bola Tinubu, announced the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal Mohammed Shehu as the Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
BUSINESSINSIDERNG reports that if a junior officer is appointed head of a military or paramilitary agencies, the senior officers would go on voluntary retirement.

However, with this recent appointment, Kazeem and other DCM would proceed on compulsory retirement.
It could be recalled that Kazeem was appointed DCM in October 2023 by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
However, in a statement by the director of information in the office of the secretary to the government of the federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, on Wednesday, the appointment is for an initial period of four years with effect from May 20, 2024, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Act establishing the Corps.
Shehu replaces Dauda Ali Biu, who had been acting as the Corps Marshal of the FRSC since the retirement of the last substantive Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, in 2023.
“President Tinubu tasks the appointee to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment,” he stated.
