The intercepted Pistol

The Muritala Muhammed International Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Wednesday, intercepted a Pistol with 2 magazines containing 26 rounds of ammunition in a baggage belonging to one Mr. Afolabi Olumide with Passport number B50120017 who arrived from Washington DC via United Airlines.
In a press statement by the Command’s public relations officer, Victor Ogagbor, and a copy made available to BUSINESSINSIDERNG, the suspect was arrested after routine examination at the ‘D’ wing of the arrival hall at about 1105 hours.
The statement reads, “operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport while on routine examination at the ‘D’ wing of the arrival hall at about 1105 hours on 13th April 2022 intercepted a Pistol with 2 magazines containing 26 rounds of ammunition in a baggage belonging to one Mr. Afolabi Olumide with Passport number B50120017 who arrived from Washington DC via United Airlines.
“The suspected persenger had earlier been accused by Nigeria Immigration Service of illegally being in possession of 2 International Passports.”
“The importation of the firearm contravenes Schedule 4 of the Customs and Excise and Management Act which is an Absolute Prohibition. NCS MMIA command has since handed over the suspect and the Arms to the Department of States Services.”
