The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has decentralized the Export Processing Terminals recently licenses by the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA).
BUSINESSINSIDERNG, reports that NPA licensed five Export Processing Terminals (EPTs), in Lagos namely, the five terminals are Sundial Global Trade & Service Ltd in Kirikiri; Diamondstar Port & Terminals Ltd, Ijora; Esslibra Terminal in Ikorodu; Bellington Cargo Ltd in Okokomaiko; and Tenzik Energy Ltd in Kirikiri Lighter Terminal 1.
However, it was gathered that the Customs headquarters has said the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal command of the service will now handle Sundial Global Trade & Service Ltd in Kirikiri and Tenzik Energy Ltd in Kirikiri Lighter Terminal.
It was also gathered that the NPA will also license another set of five Export Processing Terminals (EPTs), that will be under the Lilypond Export Command of the service.
The EPTs are licensed terminals to make Nigeria optimise the advantages of the benefits inherent in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement and to infuse greater efficiency into the logistics surrounding the entry of export boxes into the ports and the eventual loading on sea-going vessels.
