Canada Naija-Business Hub, Nigerians in Winnipeg Celebrate Nigerian Culture at the Winnipeg Naija Trade Fair

Canada Naija-Business Hub and Nigerians in Winnipeg held the maiden edition of its Winnipeg Naija Tradefair, a vibrant celebration of the Nigerian culture, food, music, fashion, art and entrepreneurial spirit.
The Tradefair enjoyed the presence of many dignitaries, such as Honorable Uzoma Asagwara, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-term Care of Manitoba; Honorable Markus Chambers, Acting Deputy Mayor and City Councilor for St. Norbert-Seine River, Winnipeg; and Honorable Janice Lukes, Deputy Mayor and City Councilor for Waverley West, Winnipeg.
The event provided an exciting opportunity to empower SMEs and experience the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria and Africa in Canada.
This one-day event featured diverse vendors showcasing various products and services. From fashion houses to displaying the latest African styles, to food vendors offering authentic Nigerian cuisine, music and art.
According to Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-term Care of Manitoba; Honorable Uzoma Asagwara, in a goodwill message encouraged the entrepreneurs to continue the good work.
Uzoma said ‘‘Nigerian culture is so beautiful and diverse. I look forward to having more of this gathering in Winnipeg.’’
Tolulope Adebayo, Founder of Canada Naija-Business Hub and BrandParlour Communications Inc. stated, ‘‘The Winnipeg Naija Tradefair, is more than just a marketplace, it is an opportunity to connect with the rich heritage of Nigeria and discover talented local businesses in Canada. It brings over 100 businesses from Nigeria and African Communities together to showcase their products and services’’.
She added, ‘‘The success of the Winnipeg Naija Trade Fair is a testament to the collaboration between the Nigerian community and local businesses. We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from established brands in Winnipeg. Their participation has not only bolstered the event but also fostered important connections between the Nigerian community and the broader Winnipeg business landscape.’’
Olubunmi Agbaje Founder, Nigerians in Winnipeg, expressed her gratitude to all participants, including consumers, the planning committee, government representatives, community leaders, vendors, partners, and volunteers. She also announced that the trade fair will become an annual event.
Aside promoting Nigerian Cultural heritage and networking opportunities for small business owners, the Winnipeg Naija Trade Fair attendees also enjoyed massive discounts, raffle draws, free meal tickets and games.
Acting Deputy Mayor and City Councilor for St. Norbert-Seine River, Honorable Markus Chambers also congratulated the Nigerians in Winnipeg and encouraged them to keep pulling up more networking events.
