CAC FOU C Congratulates Customs CG Over LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER Public Service Person Of The Year Award

The Customs Area Controller, Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone C, Owerri, of the Nigeria Customs (NCS), Compt. Bishir Abdullahi Balogun, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on his prestigious award as the LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER, Person of the Year Award.

In a congratulatory message to the Customs CG, a copy made available to BUSINESSINSIDERNG, Compt. Balogun, said the award was an impressive achievement and truly well-deserved.

“Sir, Huge congratulations on your award as LEADERSHIP Public Service Person of the Year. It’s an impressive achievement and truly well-deserved. Can’t wait to see what else you’ll achieve in the future! Congratulations sir!!”
Meanwhile, in a press statement by the National Public Relations Officer (NPRO), Abdullahi Maiwada, said the Customs CG was presented with the award at the 17th edition of the Leadership Conference and Awards in Abuja.
He, however, disclosed that the award rrecognises the CG’s performance aasthe head of the service.

In the statement,  he disclosed further that the organisers of the event, LEADERSHIP Group, stated that Adeniyi was selected after a process that assessed over ten top-performing government officials.

According to the media organisation, the award was given for Adeniyi’s “transformative leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), ushering in a new era of transparency, operational efficiency, and improved revenue generation that has significantly contributed to Nigeria’s economic stability.”

Adeniyi, accompanied by his wife, Kikelomo Adeniyi, and senior NCS officers, expressed his appreciation for the award and pledged to enhance trade facilitation, revenue generation, and the prevention of smuggling.

While accepting the award, Adeniyi credited the NCS personnel. He stated that the recognition would motivate further reform and innovation within the service.

“This award is not just about me; it reflects the collective commitment to transparency, efficiency, and national development,” he said.

 

Adeniyi reiterated his commitment to modernization, trade facilitation, and revenue enhancement, emphasizing leadership with integrity and accountability. He also highlighted the importance of border management for national security.

The CGC was recognised alongside Aliko Dangote, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, state governors, including Umo Eno (Akwa-Ibom), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bala Mohamed (Bauchi), and Abba Yusuf (Kano State), senators, and private sector representatives.
