The embattled chairman of the registered Board of Trustees of the Association of Nigerian Licenced Customs Agents (ANLCA), Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha has taken a swipe at the Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr Boniface Aniebonam saying he is ignorant of the issues leading to the prolonged leadership crisis in ANLCA.
Recall that Mustapha still lay claim to the board chairman of the ANLCA after a purported board election that brought in SIFAX group chairman, Taiwo Afolabi l.
Mustapha who disclosed this in a recent chat with an online medium in the sector recently stated that Aniebonam can conclude and make his comments within the limits of his knowledge and understanding of the ANLCA crisis.
Aniebonam advocated that the ANLCA board should take recourse to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in resolving the Association’s crisis.
Aniebonam, however, said it became necessary for the fact that the CAC is an arbiter on all matters connected to the Incorporated Trustees of any Association saying the board members ought to have approached the CAC specifically for clarification to give a bite to a court judgement on the matter.
The NAGAFF founder who regretted that the crisis in ANLCA had lingered for so long said NAGAFF was together with ANLCA to seek solution to the crisis as partner in progress.
However, Mustapha pointed out that his group was not interested in the crisis but, that there can be no peace without justice and fairness.
According to him, “Aniebonam has no deep understanding of the issues involved. He can conclude and make his comments on the face value. No one is interested in the crisis. But peace eludes where there is no justice and fairness. NECOM is sitting in a glass house, and they keep throwing stones.”
