For the first time since President Muhammadu Buhari terminated the appointment of, Hadiza Bala-Usman, as managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), she yesterday asked the current administration to secure the release of all abducted citizens and also secure the country against insecurity.

Recall that President Buhari last year suspended Bala-Usman and set up a committee to investigate activities under her administration.

However, after the committee submitted its report, the president terminated her second term appointment and approved the appointment of Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive MD.

But, in a tweet seen on twitter, on Thursday, by BUSINESSINSIDERNG, Bala-Usman rued the high level of Insecurity in the country and called for a decisive action from government against the menace.

Bala-Usman who was at the forefront of advocating for the release of the 276 Chibok school girls in Borno state, urged president Buhari to secure the country and rescue abducted citizens.

She said “It’s 8 years today since 276 girls were abducted in Chibok Sec Sch while 109 still remain in captivity. Many more girls, boys and indeed citizens of all ages have been abducted from schools, communities and while enroute on journeys.

“This continued spate of insecurity in the country needs to be DECISIVELY addressed… We can’t go on like this…Rescue our citizens and Secure our country, that’s all we ask……#SecureNigeria..#BringBackOurGirls,” she said in her tweet.
