Nigeria’s Central Bank governor, Godwin Emefiele, has picked up the 2023 Presidential nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC), after coughing up N100 million.
Emefiele has joined the likes of VP Yemi Osinbajo and Pastor Tunde Bakare, who picked theirs on Thursday.
It was gathered that the Mr Emefiele’s payment of N100m for the nomination and expression of interest forms was confirmed by the Department of Finance of the party and thereafter the form was released to him on Friday, May 6, 2022.
Months before now, there have been speculations regarding presidential aspiration of the Agbor, Delta State-born former Managing Director of Zenith Bank.
It will be recalled that Emefiele while responding to the speculations of contesting, pleaded not to be dragged into politics, saying his major concern and assignment was to fix the country’s monetary policies.
