After Killing Three Customs Officers In October, Smugglers Knock Down Another

Barely a month after suspected smugglers killed three officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), in Ogun State, another yet to be identified officer of the service was on Friday knocked down by smuggler vehicle in Kaduna.

The officer was knocked down around Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State during stop and search.

It was learnt that the officers while trying to flag down the smuggler was knocked down in an attempt by the driver to escape.

The vehicle that knocked down the officer according to the service is a Toyota Hilux Vehicle 2021 model with registration number 12H 567 FG (Ministry of Health).

It read, “The unfortunate event took place around Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State when the Olofficers tried to flag him down. In an attempt by the driver to escape, he knocked down one of the officers in the process.

“The injured officer was rushed to a nearby hospital, Dan Magaji, in Zaria and was given first aid treatment before being moved to a government hospital for further treatment,” it stated.
